Colour: Colourless or white, sometimes tinted yellow or pink
Streak : White to greyish white
Hardness: 4

Vitreous lustre. Usually in simple rhombohedral crystals which look like cubes with the angles between faces close to 90o Shape of crystals serves to distinguish chabazite from other common zeolites. It does not efferevesce in acid and is harder than calcite.
Chabazite typically occurs lining cavities in basalts.
